 Thumbs UpBy The Post-Journal Staff8/18/2007 - Thumbs up to the Jamestown Skating Club, Chautauqua Ice and Mary Handley for bringing us Skate Chautauqua - a nationally recognized figure skating competition event at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena. Skate Chautauqua includes freestyle, dance, and pairs competition and is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating and Skate Canada. Competition started yesterday, gets under way again at 9:15 a.m. today and will continue through 9 this evening. Admission is free and, given the roster of figure skaters who have competed in Skate Chautauqua in the past, we know you just might see future national and world champions skating there today.
